LOGIN!....and learn how to WIN monthly artistic gifts from the Rootcellar.... <br><br> It all started with a trip to the Mississippi, a fabulous river breeze, eagles soaring overhead, and the discovery of a mystical, soft brick, 1890, two story building. It had to be... The Artistic Curiosities, a place filled with as much mystery and intrigue as the river. The Artistic Curiosities began as a fantasy and five years later became a reality. We opened in the spring of 2000...our mission...to offer serious funky fun and fabulous artwork...all one of a kind and most important... affordable. Art is all around us. It energizes and stimulates us...and so we open the Cellar Door to awesome artwork and endless curiosities. My background started with pencil and paper as soon as I could sit up by myself. In school, I was always focusing on creative problem solving. If I could accomplish a grade by painting a picture rather than doing homewok, I did! My undergraduate and post graduate work was done at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. I have taught Middle School and High School for many years and am presently finishing my MFA in watercolor at the University of Wisconsin. My personal work can be found at The Artistic Curiosities in Marquette, Iowa, online, and in business offices and personal collections around the country.
